Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance

The quality, effectiveness and consistency of services provided by CFMG medical programs is continuously evaluated through a quality management program consisting of medical peer review, regularly scheduled internal auditing, weekly monitoring of services, documented reporting of all findings, development and implementation of corrective action plans, and re-evaluation.

Barbara Cotton, RN, MHSA works with Elaine Hustedt, Vice President of Operations and Personnel, Dr. Taylor Fithian, President/Medical Director, and on-site Program Managers and Medical Directors to implement CFMG’s Quality Assurance Plan. Ms. Cotton is the past President of the National Correctional Health Care Association, and the former Manager of the California Medical Association Community and Correctional Health Care Programs.

Quality assurance meetings are held at each contract site. Dr. Fithian of CFMG attends and chairs each meeting.

Pharmacy Services

Pharmacy Services

CFMG utilizes Diamond Pharmacy as the primary provider for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Diamond’s pharmacists perform inspections at CFMG sites to monitor the procurement, storage, handling and administration of medications.

Diamond Pharmacy staff also provide input into formulary development and consult with physicians regarding pharmaceutical issues as required.
